We use it in so many different ways...

Church Helpmate tracks all our contributions in various funds, handling even the issue of "value received" for fundraisers, and allows us to print out great contribution receipts that meet all IRS requirements and get them in the mail in a timely way.  Even on January 2nd if you want!  Members appreciate timely and professional looking receipts, and you can customize your own message on the receipt.

Church Helpmate provides a groups system with attendance tracking that allows us to keep track of all our ministries and classes and their leaders and helpers.  We use this, for instance, for our membership class to track who has signed up, who has completed the class, who has joined the church, who took the class but didn't join, etc.  This sort of organized information is a great way to know what's happening with your people.  A second example is our worship team - we track them in a group with singers and instrument players in their own sub-groups, and then we can mail or email to one sub-group or to the whole worship ministry.  A fast and efficient way to communicate.

Church Helpmate also supports great interfacing with MS Office.  We use this to be able to send out visitor letters to all our first time visitors each Monday morning.  We have an MS Word document template that CH automatically fills in with names and addresses at the places we have specified.  This is a great feature for our outreach to our first time visitors.

Church Helpmate provides many unique reports, as well as a custom report writer for further customizing, that can really help you accomplish ministry and care for the flock.  One new report we are using is one that tracks contributions and membership status together.  This has been a great way for us to spot people we may have had still coded as visitors, who are now becoming regular attenders.  For a church that is growing and ministering to more people, reports like this can really help you see what is happening in the flock and where.
