We have been using Church Helpmate for the past 2 years and have found
it to be an indispensable tool for our church. With great ease we can
track the attendance of our members, pledges, small group participation
etc.
One of the features that I personally find very help is the "Group"
section. The Group feature allows us to organize and communicate with
specific groups in our church. Whether it is sending out an email
reminder to all of the women in our church about an upcoming event or
notifying the ushers and greeters about a meeting, the group email
feature is a quick way with which to communicate with a particular group
in our church.
A second feature that is most helpful is the ability to send out a
letter to our new visitors. Once we have entered their contact
information from our visitor cards, it is very easy to personalize one
of the letters we send out on Monday mornings. The ability to print
mailing labels is also an added bonus..
Thirdly, a key feature that must be investigated when choosing church software is the support that will be provided after sale. I have nothing
but praises to say about the support that I have received from Helpmate.
The staff have always responded quickly and efficiently to my inquiries.
The price of the database was a key deciding factor for us in choosing
Helpmate. In comparison to other church membership databases, we felt that we received the
most features for our money. The ability to put the software on all of
our computers without additional cost is an added bonus. It gives me the
opportunity to work from home and then replicate [synchronize] the database when I come
into the office.
Lastly, one of my favourite features is the ability to create a
professional looking church directory with just a few clicks. This fall,
we will begin using the photo directory feature.
