As someone who has been in the software industry for the past 10 years
in a technical support role, I believe that I have expectations that may
be quite high. At our first look at the software [Church
Helpmate] (we did the demo
on the website) I was impressed at how versatile it was. The ability to
customize the reports to get what we want out of it is extremely easy.
Our previous software was homegrown and difficult to get things as easy
as mailing labels out of it, never mind custom reports.
We use Quickbooks for our accounting and the ability to export
contributions info from Helpmate to Quickbooks saves time as well as
helps to prevent errors when you have to enter things into 2 different
systems 2 different times.
Event Helpmate is also a very versatile program. It helps us with all of
the events that we plan at our church.
Since I have come from a 10 year stint in software technical support,
you might understand that this would be one area that I was most
concerned about. However, my concerns were laid to rest the first
time that I called for support. Each time I have called, I have
found the folks answering the phones to be extremely helpful and
knowledgeable.
